Only a few days left in India, and I can't help feeling relieved. This country has been a lot for me, and I'm looking forward to the calm reprieve of Japan's countryside.

That said, I'm feeling extremely grateful for the lessons I've learned here: the futility of expectation, the dropping of 'positionality', the blessings of good health, the sole reality of the Present, the healing power of water, and the wisdom and heartbreak that comes from seeing intense poverty up close.

Moreover, I'm in the middle of a big project and update for my yoga tutorials. You'll hear more about them soon.

Potatoes 🥔

Potatoes often get a bad rap, but the truth is, they’re one of the most healing foods on the planet. Blamed unfairly for health issues like obesity, diabetes, and inflammation, the real culprits are the unhealthy oils, butter, and cheese often paired with them. In their natural state, potatoes are nutrient-packed and incredibly beneficial.

Rich in potassium, vitamin B6, and bioavailable lysine, potatoes are antiviral, antifungal, and antibacterial. Lysine is especially powerful against viruses like Epstein-Barr and shingles, which can trigger autoimmune conditions and joint pain. Potatoes also support digestion, gently soothing the intestinal lining while binding to harmful bacteria and pathogens like E. coli and strep, helping the body expel them.

Potatoes nourish both body and mind. High in glucose, they fuel the liver, building glycogen stores that prevent blood sugar issues and support metabolic health. They also stabilize and ground us emotionally, offering strength and clarity during times of stress or uncertainty. Potatoes will be your allies if you’re looking to fight any chronic illness — to fend off liver disease, strengthen your kidneys, soothe your nerves and digestive tract, and reverse Crohn’s, colitis, IBS, or peptic ulcers.

Practice

I did the math: in the three years since my raw vegan journey began, I’ve consumed more than 3,000 potatoes (about 3 each day, on average).

In that time, I’ve watched all of my gut issues disappear — indigestion, constipation, and flatulence — and have been sick only three times (all three of which occurred after going slack on my diet).

Here are a few extra tips about potatoes, taken from the incredible Life-Changing Foods book:

  • Potatoes are one instance where it’s definitely best to seek out organic if possible.
  • The skin of the potato is a nutritional powerhouse, packed with minerals, amino acids, and phytochemicals.
  • To maximize their healing benefits, enjoy potatoes steamed, without butter or oil. Add avocado, salsa, or tahini as healthy toppings, or cool steamed potatoes and toss them into salads for added enzymes.
  • After you’ve steamed a batch of potatoes, set some aside to cool. Later, pull them out of the fridge, slice or cube them, and add them to a spinach or kale salad. The enzymes from the potatoes will enhance the healing alkaloids in the leafy greens, maximizing the medicinal power of the meal.
  • If you’re dealing with a cold sore, try putting a slice of raw potato on it for relief.
  • Potatoes can absorb and help diminish the negative effects of wireless Internet signals, cell phone signals and emissions, and other electromagnetic fields (EMF). They can even soak up and neutralize the negative emotional energy we sometimes pick up during the day and bring home with us. To tap into this feature of potatoes, select one to keep out in a bowl on the kitchen counter or elsewhere in your home. Discard the potato every five to seven days (don’t eat it) and replace it with a fresh one.

What is 5D consciousness?

5D is short-hand for “The 5th Dimension”, a state of being humans can exist in where time loses its linearity.

While wrapping your mind around the 5th Dimension intellectually can be a source of endless entertainment and debate, experiencing it yourself is what really matters.

Why? Because merely thinking about the 5D is just a clever trick your ego employs to avoid actually accessing it.

Let me say it more plainly: you cannot access the fifth dimension using your intellectual mind, because the fifth dimension is beyond your intellectual mind. Does that make sense? It’s like trying to study electrons with electrons — doesn’t work; you need something smaller and more energetically powerful.

Metaphysically, any being that does decide to shift their awareness from the third dimension to the fifth dimension (from linear time to non-linear time), will undergo a gradual, yet reality-shattering journey beyond the dualities of gain and loss, like and dislike into a Place of infinite abundance and unconditional love — what can be basically considered heaven.

And that’s why some teachers, myself included, prefer to use the term fifth density rather than fifth dimension.

“Dimension” sounds too much like a spatial construct, whereas “density” conveys how this new state of being is more vibrational in nature, almost like leveling up in a video game.

In the 5D, the boundaries of time and space dissolve in simple, yet profound ways. For example, whatever you can imagine is already present in the 5D. Manifesting these visions in the 3D world will still take linear, 4D time, of course. But existing as a fifth density being means you have zero anxiety or doubt that your ideas will happen. You simply know that it will be so, because you view it is as being already Here.

Understand that we are extremely blessed as a species to have this faculty, as it does not evolve easily or quickly in biology. This is a miracle, and can be a source of endless gratitude as you make the leap into this new mode of being.
